Hey, y'all! At Fancy This, family and senior sessions are my corner of what we do. I'm Nikki, and they're genuinely one of my favorite things to show up for.
There's something about photographing a family in the middle of their real, beautiful, chaotic life that never gets old. The toddler who refuses to smile until they suddenly, inexplicably do. The newborn curled up impossibly small at home. The extended family finally all in one place, laughing about something only they understand. I'm here for all of it.

Golden hour, your people.
You'll usually find me photographing families around Durham, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough, the corner of the Triangle I know best. Golden hour along the Eno River, the trails at Occoneechee Mountain, the Coker Arboretum in spring. These are the spots where kids get to just be kids, and the best frames happen in between the posed ones.

For families with fresh newborns, I love coming to you. In-home sessions are intimate, unhurried, and honestly some of the most beautiful work I do. Your home, your people, your light, in the space where your whole new life is just beginning. That's the whole story.
Travel sessions
Wherever your people gather.
Some of my favorite sessions haven't been in the Triangle at all. I've photographed families at their lake house, along the coast, out in California and Virginia, and even a villa in Spain. If there's a place that holds meaning for your family, the beach house you return to every summer, the mountain cabin, the city you fell in love in, I will meet you there.
Travel sessions are a bespoke, one-of-a-kind experience, planned closely with you from backdrop to timeline. They're an investment, and they're worth every mile. Let's design something unforgettable.

Fall mini sessions
Minis, once a year.
I offer mini sessions once a year, in the fall, and only on the handful of dates I set aside for them. That's it. No off-season minis, no one-off weekday requests, just a few special days each fall that fill up fast.
Here's the catch, and it's the good kind. My newsletter subscribers get first dibs every single time. I announce the dates there before anywhere else, and spots usually go before they ever hit the public. So if a fall mini is on your wishlist, get on the list.

How I work
A little bit of sparkle.
I'm not asking anyone to stand stiff and say cheese. I give kids something to do, keep things moving, and watch for the moments that happen in between the posed ones, because those are almost always the best frames in the gallery. Wiggly toddlers, big feelings, a whole lot of chaos? That's my favorite kind of session.
