Peyton & Lee’s Rose Hill Wedding

“Nikki is a fabulous photographer! She was professional and easy to get in touch with before my wedding, and on top of that she was incredibly fun to work with. All of her shots were great, but my favorites were from the reception--she and Eden captured such wonderful photos of all the dancing that looking at the photos is almost like reliving the experience. I would definitely recommend Nikki to a friend; if you choose her to photograph your wedding, you won't regret it!” — Peyton, the Bride

My heart swells a bit when I think about Peyton and Lee. From the very beginning they have just been the kindest of people to get to know. They planned their wedding from afar in Virginia, and married back home in Nashville, NC this past November. It was so nice to meet them for the first time (ironically, it was at their wedding!). Their happiness was so contagious, and I was so eager to serve them on their favorite day to date.

The married in Rocky Mount, NC at Peyton’s hometown church, First Presbyterian. It was gorgeous all in its own. My favorite part of their ceremony was when all of their guests (140 of them) sang hymnals during. Traditional and elegant, their wedding was one of the sweetest ones to date.

Although it rained on their wedding day, it never put a damper on anyone’s spirits. Peyton and Lee were just so happy to be with one another, and I enjoyed having a front row seat to it. Their bridal party images were taken on the front porch of Rose Hill, and afterwards we took them to the gazebo overlooking the pond out back. Rain was not going to dampen these two! To be honest, it was romantic to watch.

Rose Hill is a gorgeous venue in and of itself—it outdid itself with the most precious of florals added by Meristem Floral. Meristem Floral created this masterpiece of a work that went right over their cake table! I couldnt get over its beauty. For their cake cutting, they cut the cake with a one of a kind sword! Seriously, it was so fun to watch!

My favorite part of their day had to have been the dancing. The dance floor kept going all night while the band played. It was fun to see all of their friends on the dance floor, and even family members to let loose. They were a great crowd, and I am thankful that I had this night to be a part of. At the end of the night, Peyton and Lee exited through sparklers—and jumped into their car that was full of balloons that their friends had surprised them with. This was a first, and it was super cute to see!

Congratulations, Peyton and Lee! I am so thankful for your kindness towards me, and trust in photographing your wedding.

Special thanks to all of the vendors who made their day extra great!

Favorite Wedding Images of the Year— 2019

This year has been a year of content, happiness, and so many wonderful couples. I had the chance to photograph couples all over the state, and even make a good imprint in my little city of Durham, NC. I even photographed a beautiful wedding in West Virginia this year! To commemorate a fabulous year—take a trip with me down memory lane. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite wedding images this year from all of my couples.
