Courtney & Josh’s Cloth Mill Wedding in Hillsborough, NC

“When we realized it would be raining on our wedding day, my main concern was what did that mean for our pictures?! But with Samantha behind the camera, I later realized I had nothing to worry about! With her incredible talent, what might have seemed like an unfortunate forecast actually became the backdrop to magical pictures. In fact, everyone who sees our pictures can't believe how gorgeous they are! When looking for a photographer, I wanted someone who could capture more of the natural and candid moments, and Samantha did a stellar job at that. But the magic of Fancy This doesn't stop there. With Nikki at the helm, they also have just about the best customer service you can imagine! In a hectic wedding planning season, her warmth and enthusiasm were such a gift. Not to mention her thoughtfulness at every turn! I would wholeheartedly recommend Fancy This Photography. They not only capture amazing images, but they're an absolute joy to work with in the process!”— Courtney, the Bride

This couple has been such a joy to work with. From the very beginning, Courtney had my heart. Her kindness and generosity shown thrown with every conversation. Courtney and Josh chose to marry one another at one of the prettiest venues in Hillsborough, NC — The Cloth Mill. With its urban charm, twinkly lights, and amazing window light—this was the perfect venue for this duo.

It was a charming wedding that took place the weekend right after Thanksgiving. It ended up being a rainy day, but, the happiness of the two together made that little fact unnoticeable. The sweetest ceremony we ever did see. In the middle of their ceremony the Pastor had asked for Courtney and Josh’s closest friends (there were 19 in total) to stand and commit themselves to the couple and to be with them throughout their marriage. These 19 people stood and responded to a vow that the officiant read by saying “we do.” It was the sweetest thing to witness, and even better to photograph.

There were so many emotions bursting through the day. After toasts, the guests watched the kindest video of Courtney’s belated father. It’s the sweet gestures that happen during this moment that pull at my heart strings. The night continued with dancing, an impromptu portrait session outside in the rain (LOVE these images!), and guests indulging in ice cream served by Mama Birds!

It’s not everyday that you meet such kind and genuine people like these two. It was an honor to serve them and be a part of such a fantastic celebration.

Congratulations, Courtney and Josh! Much love to you both!

Peyton & Lee’s Rose Hill Wedding

“Nikki is a fabulous photographer! She was professional and easy to get in touch with before my wedding, and on top of that she was incredibly fun to work with. All of her shots were great, but my favorites were from the reception--she and Eden captured such wonderful photos of all the dancing that looking at the photos is almost like reliving the experience. I would definitely recommend Nikki to a friend; if you choose her to photograph your wedding, you won't regret it!” — Peyton, the Bride

My heart swells a bit when I think about Peyton and Lee. From the very beginning they have just been the kindest of people to get to know. They planned their wedding from afar in Virginia, and married back home in Nashville, NC this past November. It was so nice to meet them for the first time (ironically, it was at their wedding!). Their happiness was so contagious, and I was so eager to serve them on their favorite day to date.

The married in Rocky Mount, NC at Peyton’s hometown church, First Presbyterian. It was gorgeous all in its own. My favorite part of their ceremony was when all of their guests (140 of them) sang hymnals during. Traditional and elegant, their wedding was one of the sweetest ones to date.

Although it rained on their wedding day, it never put a damper on anyone’s spirits. Peyton and Lee were just so happy to be with one another, and I enjoyed having a front row seat to it. Their bridal party images were taken on the front porch of Rose Hill, and afterwards we took them to the gazebo overlooking the pond out back. Rain was not going to dampen these two! To be honest, it was romantic to watch.

Rose Hill is a gorgeous venue in and of itself—it outdid itself with the most precious of florals added by Meristem Floral. Meristem Floral created this masterpiece of a work that went right over their cake table! I couldnt get over its beauty. For their cake cutting, they cut the cake with a one of a kind sword! Seriously, it was so fun to watch!

My favorite part of their day had to have been the dancing. The dance floor kept going all night while the band played. It was fun to see all of their friends on the dance floor, and even family members to let loose. They were a great crowd, and I am thankful that I had this night to be a part of. At the end of the night, Peyton and Lee exited through sparklers—and jumped into their car that was full of balloons that their friends had surprised them with. This was a first, and it was super cute to see!

Congratulations, Peyton and Lee! I am so thankful for your kindness towards me, and trust in photographing your wedding.

Special thanks to all of the vendors who made their day extra great!
