Eastern, NC Wedding | Deana and Bobby's Wedding in Williamston, NC

“Nikki made me feel beautiful in all my photos on my special day and events around the day. When I received my photos It felt like I was reliving the day all over again. “ — Deana

I have to admit, Deana and Bobby’s wedding was one of those that I felt myself crying behind the camera. Long story short, I have known Deana since high school. She has been a dear friend, and I’ve enjoyed her happiness and general funniness for quite some time now. Bobby, her now husband, suits her so well with his natural humbleness and kindness. I am happy for the both of them, and so happy to have been able to photograph such a happy celebration between the two of them.

Deana and Bobby married in Williamston, NC. The ceremony and reception took place at the Bob Martin Ag Center—wait until you see the reception! With the help of their families, they completely transformed the space into something magical!

The entire day started with so many laughs. It felt so good to be in the presence of some of the most kindest of people. Deana and Bobby opted to have a first touch in the hotel right before their wedding. It was such a sweet moment to witness. If you are on the fence about doing a first look, a first touch may be the way to go. Instead of seeing each other before the wedding, you can choose to touch hands and even exchange cards during that time. I always feel like this helps with the wedding day jitters, and the emotions that come to surface are just so genuine. I am pro first touch/first look!

The ceremony was packed. I swear, I think every seat was taken. With so many friends and family there, you could feel the lovable energy in the room. Deana’s childhood Pastor married the two of them, which I thought was a nice touch. When the newlywed couple walked hand in hand down the aisle, that is when I felt the tears. It was something spectacular to see everything happen for my good friend. So happy for you, Deana!

Special thanks to all of the vendors who made this possible!

Cody Creek Bridal Portraits | Dobson, NC Wedding Photographer

Carol Anne has to be one of the sweetest and most down to earth people I have come in contact with. I was over the moon when she decided to have bridal portraits taken as that meant that I could see her again right before the wedding.

Carol decided to do her session at her wedding venue located in Dobson, NC. The restaurant is called Cody Creek and it has this serene look to it, bountiful in greens with the cutest little chapel and gazebo. This was the perfect place for her portraits! Just the right amount of southern!

My favorite images are the black and white ones found later in this post, but the ones of her and her pup are just adorable! It was so hard to pick favorites with this session! I am in love with the veil images, as well. Carol wanted to incorporate her mother's veil for her wedding day look and I think that is the sweetest gesture of all.

Over the course of the year I have become so close with this lady; in all seriousness, she has my heart. From us both planning our own weddings to actually sharing the same circle of friends (how did we not meet each other until this past year?!) she and I have become two peas in a pod--well, at least in my eyes. My business has taken me all over to countless countries, and many states across this nation, but the best place is to the home of a friendship. I know, that sounds so corny and cliche! I can't help it! What I am really trying to say is that this journey has been so much more than entrepreneurship; it's been about making some great relationships with some great people. Jayme [& Elliott] have definitely fallen in to that category.

Jayme sported a custom embellished and totally romantic Martina Liana gown received from Lana Addison's Bridal Boutique located right here in Cary, NC. Her tousled up-do paired with her soft and natural beauty made for a breathtaking site, don't you agree? I have to admit, my favorite part of her attire was her Betsey Johnson shoes! Oh my how I love Betsey; no wonder Jayme stole my heart so early, ha!

We enjoyed our day at the beautiful and historic Carolina Inn; it was so much fun walking the halls and basically playing dress up--a precursor to the wedding, what girl doesn't want to wear their dress twice?! I love how all of the colors of the Carolina Inn came out, especially when I saw the film after it was developed. The halls give off a romantic feel, and it meshed so well with Jayme's wedding day look!

Jayme and Elliott | Asheville, NC Engagement

Let me just start this out by saying that I think I may be the one that fell in love with Jayme. Not even kidding, I think the world of Jayme and am completely smitten that we are working together in anticipation of her and Elliott's wedding! Gah, I have the best clients in the world!

Earlier this year Elliott took Jayme to the one place that she'd always wanted to go and relax for the weekend; The Omni Grove Park Inn. It is this magical hotel that has huge firepits, an amazing sunset view, and the best view of downtown Asheville anyone could ever dream of! He proposed on one of their terraces, and the rest is history. So romantic, right?! It was only fitting that we go back and revisit the one place that they cherish so deeply.

We started off the day with a walk around their golf course, then scurried inside just in time for some much needed coffee (if you know me, you know I like to start sessions early!). We sat outside and took in the view, and I could only imagine how these two felt during that time. What a treat to go back, it was a beautiful day and I had gorgeous subjects in front of my lens.

After adventuring the hotel, we hopped on the Blue Ridge Parkway and found the prettiest little outlook with gorgeous mountains to boot. Below, please find some of my favorite images from our time there!
