Chelsea and Cameron | Fairytale Backyard Wedding | Franklinville, NC

Magical Moments

From the very beginning, the day felt extra magical. The property, the rustic fairytale elements and the sun beams playing through the trees, made it magic. Chelsea seemed so at ease as she did her makeup and her hair, chatted with her bridesmaids and slipped into her dress. The day was filled with charm and nostalgia, and I can’t wait for you to see..

the coolest groom around

It’s always the hope that your groom and groomsmen are comfortable, but this isn’t always the case. At Fancy This Photography, we will always put our very best foot forward in making our bride and grooms feel comfortable. Cameron and his men were full of fun and at ease through all the photos we captured. I couldn’t have asked for a cooler group to work with.

“Chelsea and I went to photography school together at Randolph Community College. We were both in the portrait studio concentration. She has been a dear friend of mine, for now several years. I felt honored to be her photographer. Her family built that sweet chapel behind their home, and Chelsea and cameron were the first to marry there.”

the first look

I’m not convinced I didn’t see fairies dancing in the forest on Chelsea and Cameron’s wedding day. The way the rays of sunlight filtered through the leaves and branches, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. The scene looks like a fairytale forest, with the light creating a sense of movement and motion all around them.

the ceremony

A wedding on a family farm outside of Ashboro, NC. This wedding offered a relaxed and rustic atmosphere, with the beauty of nature as the backdrop.

The chapel located on the property, nestled among the trees, added to the charm of the setting and served as a beautiful and intimate location for this wedding ceremony. The guests were surrounded by the natural beauty of the property.

The setting of a family farm was truly magical for these two. With a setting such as this, there is plenty of room for guests to roam, and the views were breathtaking.

There are also practical benefits to holding your wedding on a family farm, such as having the ability to choose your own vendors, flexibility in scheduling, and the opportunity to create a truly personalized and unique wedding experience. Plus, hosting your wedding on a family farm can be a meaningful way to incorporate family traditions and values into your celebration.

Overall, a wedding on the land of a family farm outside of Ashboro, NC with a chapel set among the trees offers a one-of-a-kind wedding experience that is both intimate and romantic, while also being relaxed and down-to-earth.

As you approach the chapel, you are struck by its beauty and charm. The wooden structure blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings, as if it has always been a part of the forest. The doors of the chapel open, revealing a dramatic tall ceiling and arched leaded glass. Again, the sun shone through the windows creating the perfect glow on the whole ceremony.

Just Married

A fairytale day to remember…

With Chelsea’s family farm, there were so many picturesque backdrops for their couples portraits. We chose near a beautiful shaded tree, that was on Chelsea’s late grandmothers lot. The entire scene gave us that gorgeous sunkissed light that made it extra fairytale like!

wait, there were horses

Can’t forget these magical moments with the littlest fairy, the golden sun and horses to end the day.

Samantha & Dee’s Wedding

at Comeback Farms in Warsaw, NC

This wedding hits me in my feels so much. Not only was it beautiful in and of itself, but its also my best friends wedding. Now, before you read further I want you to know that I thought about not photographing it— “should I enjoy this wedding as a guest?” A valid question, but the more I thought about it the more I said “oh no, Nikki—if you dont photograph this wedding you are going to be so upset!” And yes, that would have been the truth. I wanted to have a front row seat to Sam & Dee’s wedding. By photographing it, I could actually be with my best friend throughout the entire process. I was honored to be able to do this, and more so honored that I could give my friend and her husband beautiful heirlooms for years to come. That, to me, is what makes this wedding extra special.

Sam and Dee met online, but surprisingly they went to school together many years ago. Sam had been good friends with Dee’s sister, and ironically good acquaintances with Dee’s brother while in college. Both attended NC State (go Wolfpack!), but didnt meet each other until many years later when they matched online.

I remember the first time I met Dee. Sam was so excited to introduce him into our trifecta of friendship (myself, a firecracker of a lady named Jessie, and Sam). If you can imagine it, we are very picky of who each other dates. Who knew?! Ha! Jessie and I met Dee for the first time in a bar/restaurant in downtown Wilmington. We were enthralled with how Dee looked at Sam. Sam had never looked so happy until then. We knew on that night that they would be together for a lifetime. Thinking back on it, it was something really special to witness.

They married one another in front of their closest family and friends on the sweetest little farm located in Warsaw, NC — The Powell Home and Barn at Comeback Farms. The day could not have been more gorgeous. It was the perfect fall weather filled with golden hour ceremony light, pumpkins galore, and the best southern food. The best part about the day was how Dee looked at Sam. Again, truly something special.

Enjoy!

Eastern, NC Wedding | Deana and Bobby's Wedding in Williamston, NC

“Nikki made me feel beautiful in all my photos on my special day and events around the day. When I received my photos It felt like I was reliving the day all over again. “ — Deana

I have to admit, Deana and Bobby’s wedding was one of those that I felt myself crying behind the camera. Long story short, I have known Deana since high school. She has been a dear friend, and I’ve enjoyed her happiness and general funniness for quite some time now. Bobby, her now husband, suits her so well with his natural humbleness and kindness. I am happy for the both of them, and so happy to have been able to photograph such a happy celebration between the two of them.

Deana and Bobby married in Williamston, NC. The ceremony and reception took place at the Bob Martin Ag Center—wait until you see the reception! With the help of their families, they completely transformed the space into something magical!

The entire day started with so many laughs. It felt so good to be in the presence of some of the most kindest of people. Deana and Bobby opted to have a first touch in the hotel right before their wedding. It was such a sweet moment to witness. If you are on the fence about doing a first look, a first touch may be the way to go. Instead of seeing each other before the wedding, you can choose to touch hands and even exchange cards during that time. I always feel like this helps with the wedding day jitters, and the emotions that come to surface are just so genuine. I am pro first touch/first look!

The ceremony was packed. I swear, I think every seat was taken. With so many friends and family there, you could feel the lovable energy in the room. Deana’s childhood Pastor married the two of them, which I thought was a nice touch. When the newlywed couple walked hand in hand down the aisle, that is when I felt the tears. It was something spectacular to see everything happen for my good friend. So happy for you, Deana!

Special thanks to all of the vendors who made this possible!
