Sherry & Cristina

Married at the Power House in Rocky Mount, NC

Sherry and Cristina had a love like none other. They had met each other around 10 years ago, and have been together ever since. Local to the Rocky Mount area, they wanted to have their ceremony close to their roots. They chose the beautiful venue, The Power House, which is nestled right in the heart of Rocky Mount, NC. The day was as beautiful as the night. For the first part of the day I was with Cristina and her mother getting ready. The light from the suite was gorgeous and enveloped Cristina just perfectly. Right after, I met Sherry with all of the bridesmaids and they toasted for a beautiful evening to come.

My favorite part of their day was their first touch. They wanted to keep their wedding traditional in the sense that they would see each other for the first time down the aisle. They decided to do a first touch, which just so happened right at golden hour. Talk to me about some gorgeous sun rays.

Their ceremony happened just as the sun set. It was a site to see with those beautiful full length windows and the dusty shades of blue come through them. The scene was surreal, with beautiful twinkle lights that hung directly over the guests. After the ceremony, both ladies shared in a cake cutting, and guests left with to-go cupcakes (covid style!).

Once this sort of “cocktail” hour was finished, Sherry, Cristina and I headed outside for some night time shots. When Sherry & Cristina talked about their wedding images, they made it clear that they were getting married on a full moon and that they wanted images at night with the moon. This was very sentimental to me, as I know and appreciate the sign of the new/full moon; in its simplest form, it means the start of new beginnings. What better way to show this than by getting married during it?!

Their night ended with drinks and food with their dearest close friends and family at TCB, right down the street from the Power House.

Special thanks to all of the vendors involved!

Bohemian Inspired Style | Nashville Bride Guide

As seen from the bloggers at Nashville Bride Guide! So excited to see my work featured in Nashville, TN! Thank you to every single vendor involved; everything came out beautifully.

"The definition of a free spirit is an independent or uninhibited person. If that is the case, what would you call it when you two of those independent souls meet and become one? I am not sure of the exact word used to describe it, but the wedding of Harper and Knox is definitely the meeting of two free spirits and coming together to create one beautiful and magical day!

Taking place in Nashville, TN these two love birds set the stage around town. Captured by Fancy this Photography, they made sure to represent Music City by taking pictures in front of some of Nashville’s iconic murals and near the popular downtown street, Broadway.

Our bride, as with everything she does, wanted to truly encapsulate her and her fiance’s essence, and she made no exception when it came to their attire. The groom wanted a twist on a classic. In his slate navy tux, and blush accessories from Street Tuxedo he is keeping with tradition while giving it a trendy spin. As for the bride, she is a vision in lace. This sweetheart mermaid gown from Posh Bridal Couture isn’t as classic as it first appears. It has its own subtle surprise with a simple chevron pattern worked into the traditional lace. Both the cut and the pattern are truly meant for this bride. Pair this gown with the bold choice of a gold chandelier earring and the look succeeds in bringing the beholder's eye up and onto the glowing bride’s face.

If her eyes are the windows to the soul who do you choose to frame them? Makeup for Your Day’s Nashville team stepped in to create this natural, smoldering look. They did a softer, more neutral take on a smokey eye to add drama and to feature her stunning blue eyes. To keep her look clean they continued her bridal beauty makeup with a velvety cheek and subtle pink lip. For her hair it was all about effortless texture and sweet romance. The combination of a crown braid and side chignon provides interest from every stunning angle.

The couple's ceremony and reception took place a little outside of Nashville at the remarkable Tucker’s Gap event space. Surrounded by rolling hills, rustics barns and horse filled stables, this couple could not have asked for a more soothing and serene scene.

To add to that serenity, the bridesmaids wore flowy blush colored chiffon gowns from Bella Bridesmaids. While bridesmaids were standing proudly with their soon-to-be-hitched friend, the best man mirrored the groom effortlessly in a similar tux with white accessories. This stunning bridal party fell right into the ease of their surroundings and only added to its natural beauty.

With the place cards out and the tables set, it was time for the reception. Where copper, golds, and other warm hues set the scene, and each table felt like a fall stroll through a local farm, the whole table scape set the scene for an unforgettable night. Guests enjoyed a taste of the South with individual homemade pies from Slice Pie Company, and a selection of southern cocktails. This perfect night came to an end under the open skies but for these two free spirits, their love had just begun."
