If you have been keeping up with me via social media, you know this time of year I have been offering Christmas Mini Sessions to families all across the triangle. One of my favorite sessions this fall has to be of Jess, Maddox, and Landon. First, let's talk about their outfits! The youngest has on the cutest little reindeer sweater I think I may have ever seen! And the older brother?! Oh my goodness, the plaid. What cuties! This family was an absolute blast to hang out with and I am just over the moon about how their family session turned out! Yay for beautiful weather, awesome families, and gorgeous souls!
The Youngs! Oh my goodness, if you are ever in the need for a good wholesome laugh, just stick with this family. Their love was contagious and just made me want to have a little family for myself. Seriously, they were just great company and I can not get over how beautiful their family session turned out at Lavender Oaks Farm in Chapel Hill, NC. If you have never seen the landscape at Lavender Oaks, make time, it is a jaw dropper and the owners are darling. You can even pick your own lavender to take home. Slap me, is this real?
With growing kids about to leave the house shortly, this is prime time to photograph your family. I am so glad Maria reached out to me about documenting them, this is such a wonderful time for everyone. We did a joint session with Gabby starting the day for her senior portraits, then waited out a little bit of a storm, then photographed the family. I love doing sessions like this because one, everyone can be there for the session, and two, you can set aside one day instead of two to create portraits.
Also, how fun are they?!
Can we talk about the best home, garden, and family ever?! Yes, it's time. What I am about to show you is eclectic, modern, and shows so much southern vintage flare--shot both on film and digital. The parents are both small business owners in the good ol' city of Durham, NC, and still find time to clean their house. This session showcases some new parent vibes along with old family traditions.
Rachael and Chaz have been known to go against the grain, but in style and dreams. Millie, their 5 month old, will definitely grow up a firecracker and will inevitably be the cool kid on the block when she is older. Georgia, their lifelong pup, is completely smitten with the newcomer and she even is seen sporting a flower collar--courtesy of one of Rachael's small businesses, Tre Bella Florist. Chaz from Chaz's Bull City Records decorated the halls with old school posters of his favorite bands--which we get to see more of when we enter his record store later to document his family. My favorite? Nirvana.
Seriously, you have to swoon with me on this! Love how modern this sweet family is! Oh, and for added measures of awesomeness--this session is featured on Beyond the Wanderlust and Oh. My. Stars.!! You can find their original blog post here.
It is not every day that you get to photograph this kind of beautiful family. On top of it all, they brought their adorable pets (both cat and dog). Eek! Oh my word, they were the cutest thing I ever saw! You may remember Kat and Mason from their anniversary session with me last year. Each year we do a photo shoot around the time of their anniversary. This year, we included Kat's parents.
It was a beautiful day! I am so excited to show you these images. I think the best part about this session was actually photographing an actual cat in family portrait style! Also, Kat's parents are the sweetest! Love love love the images I captured of just the two of them! All in all, this was a great day and was so excited to do this for them!
