Red Oak Weddings | New York City Bridals

As seen in Red Oak Weddings

In true New York style, you never know what you will see while walking the streets of the city. In this case: pure, raw fashion with an edge is captured. Soft fabric, romantic lace, delicate flowers in the most intricate "faux hawk" updo. Jaw dropping Dior Triables earrings adorn her ears like magic sapphire crystal balls. She looks out onto the Hudson, perhaps sneaking a glimpse into her future. Fashion revels all over the city, the gardens of the High Line - people making their way from point A to point B pondering their days details and what is next on their list of things to do while a bridal goddess is amidst them in this bustling metropolis. NYC taxi cabs, police sirens, the sounds of hammering construction, dog walkers & tourists all roam these city streets every day; this is what New Yorker's call the everyday norm. Fabulous 'fros in delectable shades of the rainbow, a quick respite on a park bench just to catch your breath and soak up the crisp "New York in the spring" air. Springtime in New York is refreshing, trees and flowers blooming in the most glorious colors. Rich color like the pop of fuschia she wears that just happens to be Tom Ford Plum Velvet lipstick. That shade leaves a mark on the notorious NYC "dirty water hot dog", there's nothing else quite like it. Lights twinkle as the sun goes down in the city that never sleeps. Pure, raw fashion is all around us in this concrete jungle bursting with energy. Gracefully step out of that cab and see what the amazing, ever changing, powerful city has to offer. New York, how we love you...

Gabi | Bridal Portrait Session | North Carolina Museum of Art

Oh, my heart! There is just one thing that makes me swoon over and over again; bridals. Yes! There is no hustle and bustle of the BIG day, less stress, and just more time to get those most intimate shots of the bride and her dress. I love bridal sessions because it gives the bride an idea of how everything will look. It's her trial run, for lack of a better term. This is her chance to see how the hair will feel throughout the session. Will she need more pins? Or would she actually prefer to have her hair down? Her flowers, this gives her enough time to see how she actually likes the bouquet and how it will look against her dress.

And most importantly, this is the session where more than likely she will choose the image to give to her parents to hang on their wall. Their daughter, in all her glory, just as beautiful as the day she was born. That, in itself, is such an important part of what I do.

Pictured below is the gorgeous bridal session with Gabi. I mean, is this lady beautiful or what?! Everything from the hair, the makeup, the flowers, the venue, and the GOWN! Oh, that gown is to die for! We had so much fun during this session, I am so happy to present to you some of my favorite photographs from the session!
