In true New York style, you never know what you will see while walking the streets of the city. In this case: pure, raw fashion with an edge is captured. Soft fabric, romantic lace, delicate flowers in the most intricate "faux hawk" updo. Jaw dropping Dior Triables earrings adorn her ears like magic sapphire crystal balls. She looks out onto the Hudson, perhaps sneaking a glimpse into her future. Fashion revels all over the city, the gardens of the High Line - people making their way from point A to point B pondering their days details and what is next on their list of things to do while a bridal goddess is amidst them in this bustling metropolis. NYC taxi cabs, police sirens, the sounds of hammering construction, dog walkers & tourists all roam these city streets every day; this is what New Yorker's call the everyday norm. Fabulous 'fros in delectable shades of the rainbow, a quick respite on a park bench just to catch your breath and soak up the crisp "New York in the spring" air. Springtime in New York is refreshing, trees and flowers blooming in the most glorious colors. Rich color like the pop of fuschia she wears that just happens to be Tom Ford Plum Velvet lipstick. That shade leaves a mark on the notorious NYC "dirty water hot dog", there's nothing else quite like it. Lights twinkle as the sun goes down in the city that never sleeps. Pure, raw fashion is all around us in this concrete jungle bursting with energy. Gracefully step out of that cab and see what the amazing, ever changing, powerful city has to offer. New York, how we love you...

There are some things that make me gushy with excitement... If you have been following my blog you've noticed my love for bridals. I. just. cant. help. it! I mean, look at the bride?! Brittany is absolutely gorgeous with her beautiful skin and long red hair; her beauty team must have thought of her as an absolute dream! And the gown?! Lazaro always makes ravishing gowns that seem to just be the perfect fit for my brides. And this venue, oh this venue always blows me away! I absolutely adore the Carolina Inn. If you have never walked its hallways, I highly recommend it. It is the perfect blend of traditional with modern hints. It's a dream.
All in all, this session came out beautifully! I can not wait to hear your thoughts on this gorgeous little beauty I'm presenting to you! Happy wedding day!

Oh, my heart! There is just one thing that makes me swoon over and over again; bridals. Yes! There is no hustle and bustle of the BIG day, less stress, and just more time to get those most intimate shots of the bride and her dress. I love bridal sessions because it gives the bride an idea of how everything will look. It's her trial run, for lack of a better term. This is her chance to see how the hair will feel throughout the session. Will she need more pins? Or would she actually prefer to have her hair down? Her flowers, this gives her enough time to see how she actually likes the bouquet and how it will look against her dress.
And most importantly, this is the session where more than likely she will choose the image to give to her parents to hang on their wall. Their daughter, in all her glory, just as beautiful as the day she was born. That, in itself, is such an important part of what I do.
Pictured below is the gorgeous bridal session with Gabi. I mean, is this lady beautiful or what?! Everything from the hair, the makeup, the flowers, the venue, and the GOWN! Oh, that gown is to die for! We had so much fun during this session, I am so happy to present to you some of my favorite photographs from the session!

This year has been the year of prospects. Being brand spanking "new" to the wedding industry definitely has its ups and downs. The downs meaning, I now know the real meaning of the term "hustle," ha! It's ups?--meeting and collaborating with SO SO SO many talented artists and businesses in and around the Raleigh area. Having worked with them in the past (my previous life [and sometimes current] as a florist), it's completely different as a small business owner now. One of my favorite all time things to do is styled shoots. Everyone involved brings in so much creativity, and I get to bask in that for the day. It's absolutely mesmerizing, and something that makes my heart sing.
This past April I worked one on one with the talented ladies of Makeup For Your Day to set up this adorable bridal tea party session. The models, the dresses, the flowers, oh my! It all came together so well and I am so stinkin' thrilled that Southern Bride & Groom picked this up and featured it on their blog! As a lifelong fan of the magazine, this is what made this session that much better. I am one happy lady!
We wanted to focus more on the beauty and styling side of things. The hair and makeup trends seen below are what Makeup For Your Day predicts as this next seasons top trends.
