The Rickhouse is nestled right in the middle of downtown Durham proper. It is within walking distance to some very popular joints—like Fullsteam Brewery, Cocoa Cinnamon, Motorco, and has a sweet view of the old Durham Ball Park! Bull Durham, anyone? The Rickhouse is known for its appearance and type of “feel” it gives its guests. What type of feeling is this? Well, its the feeling of Durham. If you are not familiar with Durham, just take a walk down Main Street. We Durham-ites are fans of buying local and small, and helping our community.

This Durham wedding venue is a personal favorite, not just because of its amazing looks (hello big beautiful windows and oh my goodness, is there a brewery you can look at?!), but because of its staff. All of my couples who have tied the knot here have absolutely raved about the service. And from a vendor standpoint, I tend to agree. This is pivotal for your wedding day, and every time I have an event here I know that even I am in good hands.

Their 2020 bridal show was a bit different this year. Vendors were divided into “teams” and were tasked to create a certain “look” with each part of the venue. I was in the “Durham” team with wedding planner extraordinaire Emily with Events by Emily, Tre Bella Flowers, Kevin Holland who is a magnificent officiant, Top Off Events, Nuvo Taco, and the always delicious Picnic.
